EP 92 is the second release of Jersey outfit American Angel, following their fairly succesful self titled debut (which provided the MTV hit "How can I miss you").

A top notch hard rock/hair metal hybrid is what we're dealing with here. Picture something between Poison and Lillian Axe, with some Guns n' Roses vocal touches, and you're pretty close to the band's sound. As with most bands of this kind, the musicianship and production values leave little to be desired. A thing I loved about these guys are the lyrics, which are very intelligent and well written, both when talking about epic themes (like on "Shoot down the memory" which deals with the Indian massacre), or more poser oriented love themes. Almost all the songs are potential "hits", catchy as hell but far from cheesy, so no fillers here.

A great release which refuses to exit my car cd player! The band is back together as of late, with frontman Rocco Fury (Furiero) as the sole remaining member of the original lineup. If you come across this album, and if you have a soft spot for melodic hard rock, make sure you get it!

"The wind stole the feather, and the blood stained the rain
and the tears of the warpaint wash the holy land away
the fear of the white man quick to draw him to his gun
shoot down the memory of the indian"
