Prymary - The Eternity Inside - Progrock Records - 2009 [ CD ] |

Well this is for sure one of the best Progressive Metal releases I have heard recently. Prymary from California, USA (featuring Redemption’s drummer Chris Quirarte, who also appeared into Roswell Six; the mega Prog project that featured James LaBrie from Dream Theater among others) released a magnificent record.
Here we got nine compositions of deep and melodic Prog Metal sounding extremely heavy and passionate. Melody and passion mixed with complexity is you will be able to discover in this album. Explosive guitar themes and melodies (you really got to listen the leads of Sean Entrikin), magnificent acoustic parts enforced by guitar and piano, an outstanding, storm taking rhythm section (thanks to Rob Young on bass and Chris Quirarte on drums) and above all the brilliant emotional vocals of Jackson Heskett. Not only the great piano parts but the entire keyboard stuff by Neil Mcqueen gives to the album’s stuff lots of extra points and this special emotional touch. You see Prog Metal is not only about being complex, the music should be emotional as well and –as already mentioned- the music of this album is travelling into the lands of melody and emotion being complex enough to satisfy your thirst for more high quality Progressive Metal. This is a real adventurous album, every time you will dive to its world you will listen something new and after all my friends this is the meaning of a good Prog Metal album. Right? If you are into Images and Words Era of Dream Theater and Parallels era of Fates Warning, if you want something really heavy meanwhile deep and emotional this is the album for you. http://www.prymary.com/ Review by: Countraven |
