Blackstorm - Twist Of Fate - Arkeyn Steel Records - 2009 [ ] |

Blackstorm from San Jose, California, USA was one of those bands that got all the talent and passion to deliver some Steel to the masses but never actually managed to strike out the underground scene releasing any full length or getting some touring opportunity. Well yes this is the well known story that is written again and again for various Metal bands that kicked serious ass out there.
This release by Arkeyn Steel records re presents the band’s three demos gathering all their stuff into a full length that should actually be released back in the active days of the band but better late than never. Right? As already pointed the band has released three demos: Twist Of Fate (1989), Tales From The Wishing Well (1990) and the lands of Yesterday (1992). Musically speaking the bands delivers a mixture of US Power / Prog Metal and Thrash / Speed Metal –the American way-. Melodic and complex stuff performed in an extremely passionate way being powerful enough especially when the band getting is invading into Speed / Thrash Metal stuff ala Forbidden / Death Angel. But at the end of the day the Power / Prog elements are those that make the big difference in here. Those great melodic vocals, those mysteriously attractive guitar themes and leads and this complex rhythm section makes the music of this band to be the ideal solution for those who still search some good Power / Prog Stel. This band deliver songs that will “burn inside of you”… Just listen… http://www.arkeynsteel.com Review by: Countraven |
