Armory - Dawn Of Enlightenment - Private Pressing - 2007 [ CD ] |

Armory hails from Tonwsend, Massachusetts. “Dawn of Enlightenment” was originally recorded and released in 2004. The band was not happy with the whole set of promotion, sound and overall packaging and decided to re-record the entire album with much better production values and great artwork. This is not something you come across every day. Very few bands learn from their own mistakes and Armory must be credited for that.
On the musical department, although Armory originates from the States, the band’s music is pure European sounding power metal as taught by masters of the genre such as Gamma Ray, Helloween and Running Wild. To be honest, they sound much much better than most of the European bands that serve this particular heavy metal branch. The vocals are truly great; very melodic and fitting with a Dickinson touch. The guitar duo has studied Iron Maiden and Helloween all the way. I wish the drumming was more inspired though. This typical eurodrumming is very boring. Armory doesn’t play original music but if you are into Europower, skip all these clone-clowns and go for the real stuff. http://www.faithinsteel.com Review by: Trampakoulas |
