Emoyria - The Long Road Home - Nightmare Records - 2009 [ CD ]
High class Power / Prog Metal by the Vancouver / Canada based Empyria. Grab “The Long Road Home” album if you are in the mood of some high class, inspired, technical Steel. They have been around for many years with already four albums released (and you can add some demos as well) but this is for sure their best release so far.

First of all the band has a very strong feature that stands above their technical skills. They are blessed with inspired song writing. Just listen to their “Last Rites” song and you will understand my point. Fantastic, inspired songs by Empyria, delivered to the listener under technical structures and passionate performances by all musicians and you can add to the puzzle the fantastic voice by Philip Leite.

Giving some more carefully listening to this great album the listener will discover many more surprises and many more great songs (like the Power / Prog anthem “Can’t Wait Forever”). Every time that this CD will take a visit on your stereo there will be something new for you to discover and if you want my opinion this is the real big goal of Progressive Metal. Fortunately Empyria are mixing a lot of US Power elements into their music so you can turn the volume louder and head bang anytime on tracks like “The Endless Circle”, “False Witness” etc.

Anyway I think you got the message. This is one of the best Power / Prog Metal albums around. Get it fast.
