Lineup: London Wilde – Vocals + Keyboards, Dave Starr – Guitars + Bass |

I first heard the name Wildestarr almost a year ago through myspace. I checked the profile and discovered that the founder was Dave Starr, guitarist and bassist of Vicious Rumors fame, accompanied by a female vocalist called London Wilde. I listened to the sample song and was really excited about the whole project. I kept visiting the page looking for any news and updates until one day I saw that the cd was ready for release! A few days later I received it via mail. Finally this long anticipated album is spinning inside my cd player. The room fills with mid tempo melodic power metal, aggressive but yet atmospheric and adventurous. London Wilde owns a powerful heavy metal voice. She is not the typical siren-like singer but falls under the same category with vixens such as Leather Leone, Barbara Maltese, Veronica Freeman, Kate French and Danie Powers. Dave Starr’s work needs no introductions. He is a competent master of the strings and delivers both crunchy riffs and melodic solos with great ease. The relations with the 90s Vicious Rumors material are obvious in most songs. Don’t expect any smash hits though (only “Generation Next” is what you might call a straight forward tune). “Arrival” is dark and angry. It needs your devotion if you want to decipher its secrets. http://www.wildestarr.com Review by: Trampakoulas |
