Heathen - The Evolution Of Chaos - Mascot Records - 2010 [ CD ] |

Here we have a strong comeback from this really known (and good) thrash metal band almost two decades after their last album “Victims of Deception”. The leader of this San Francisco band (as you can see they are compatriots with the GODS Anvil Chorus and yes the two bands had common members for a while) is Lee Altus. Expect from him a couple of known thrash metal musicians participate in this album. David R. White (aka David Godfrey) - Vocals [(Blind Illusion, Inner Threshold, Laughing Dead, Defiance (USA)], Jon Torres - Bass (Angel Witch, Lääz Rockit, Ulysses Siren, Warning S.F., I4NI, The Lord Weird Slough Feg) and Darren Minter - Drums (Angel Witch).
This album is in almost the same musical genre as the previous ones, namely the style of the band is technical thrash metal the old way. The production is up to date but hopefully it does not bother the ear of the classic metal fan. The album is in general really good and it is one of the pleasant surprises of the new decade! As tracks I would say that stand out “Dying Season”, “Control by Chaos”, “No stone unturned” “Red tears of Disgrace” and “Silent Nothingness”. The disc as their previous one reminds me the good moments of their compatriots Metallica. It seems that it worth the time waiting for such an album.
