This should be checked by everyone into dark, heavy music. I mean everyone. It is a perfect mixture of depressive meanwhile emotional Atmospheric Metal and mysterious, apocalyptic Doom / Death Metal. What I really liked in the stuff of this album is that many of the songs are carrying a special atmosphere based in one of my favorite instruments: the piano.
Do not expect weak stuff in here as the guitar are really heavy and the rhythm section is slowly hammering each single part of each single song. Yes there are some faster parts as well basically used as crescendos and there are some really beautiful acoustic parts to bring back the calm after the storm. Dive deep into this album and explore each song. Discover the magnificent, esoteric guitar melodies. Let the vocals to take you in their own black trip: yes they are deep, dark and they have a strange touch of abyss in their sound. The atmosphere of this record is the strongest feature. From even the first hearing the music will overtake to. It is the inspired songwriting of the band which is presented under a dark, apocalyptic, strange and beautiful atmosphere. http://www.myspace.com/ontheedgeofthenetherrealm Review by: Countraven |
