This is STYGIAN OATH‘s debut mini CD on Stormspell Records and I can assure you that you should be prepared for a massive blast of Classic Heavy Metal by this amazing Greek band.

Influences from JUDAS PRIEST, ACCEPT, IRON MAIDEN, and SAVATAGE are mixed together on a very solid and storm-taking Heavy Metal result. I would even discover some doom (eg. CANDLEMASS) touches here and there and this is another (of course) positive feature on their sound.

Everything starts from the good riffing and it is obvious that in here you would be able to here some amazing riffs. The extra guitar melodies and leads by Haris Vavalidis would complete the guitar wall of sound (by the way check Haris work on his previous ATRIA MORTIS band, I gave their “The Samurai” demo a lot of spins when it was released back in 2006 and still is a favorite pick when it comes to Greek Heavy Metal), while Panos Tsartsalis on bass and Apostolos Tzotzis on drums build the ideal, solid rhythm section. Turn the volume a little louder and feel the hammering!

Classic Heavy Metal delivered by Metalheads for Metalheads. If this is the sound you are into, then support this great debut. No more excuses are needed.

I breathe for music. And I am more than sure that my mission in this universe is to make everybody agree that "Awaken The Guardian" by FATES WARNING is the best album ever released, yes in all musical genres. My next mission is to feed homeless cats and when I am not busy with all this stuff I listen to US Prog / Power and Epic Doom Metal. And I cast spells in rituals in order to awake the old ones. Interview with CRYSTAL EYES

You cannot go wrong with Sweden's CRYSTAL EYES. If the combination of Classic Heavy Metal with European Power Metal -and especially its Teutonic version- was and still is your cup of tea, then this band is the absolute must. They are moving closely to the 30th year of their existence and they have released their 8th "Starbourne Traveler" full length. We had a very interesting conversation with the band's main man Mikael Dahl, he was pretty kind and he had a nice story to share about pretty much everything: The 90s demo era, the first record deal, the live shows and the line up changes, not to mention his album by album comments. Grab a cold beer -or whatever you prefer to drink- and enjoy the interview!
