Underground.

True.

Epic doom metal.

Are you into the above?

Then, don’t waste another moment; order MOUNTAIN THRONE’s new album, “The Silver Light” NOW!

It’s as EPIC as it gets, DOOMY and HEAVY and POWERFULL in every sense, while its sound, through an excellent production, offers the valuable feeling of ALIVE and BREATHING music, thankfully not annoyingly overdubbed or shiningly polished.

So, let’s just cut it to the bone. Opening track, “Shapes in the Fog”, is a one-minute intro that just like an audial portal, it sent me at the roots of a misty, gloomy mountainside, all alone and afraid, my heart pounding wildly in my chest, wondering what will follow; it proved to be a heavy hailstorm named “All Souls Day” which grabbed me on a cataclysmic journey. A journey that went on with the beefy riffs and the massive rhythm section of “We Are Hunters”, sounding like GRAND MAGUS and SORCERER. Then came the slow paced “Thunderstorm Nights” with the chanting chorus that brings to mind the good, old CANDLEMASS. “Man the Rampart” is the longest song in the tracklist, an epic doom gem that stands out IMMEDIATELY! Well, I am no longer at the foot of the mountain, but have boldly begun the ascent. I am seeking my own MOUNTAIN THRONE to claim! “Three Stars Shining” guide me, all full of brightness and hope and finally, there it is, “The Silver Light” – the title track is the epitome of this album, showcasing the band’s ability to delight us with a musical hybrid of all good metal elements: heaviness, might and honesty made of inspiration, passion and talent, blended together with the most beautiful way! “Valkyrie” is the kind of ARKHAM WITCH’s style while “All Hallow’s Eve” serves as a nice, weird intro for the final track, “Death of a Tyrant” another epic doom highlight – yes, at last I am at the top of the mountain, looking at the world with pride and joy, a great, majestic feeling – WHAT A CLOSURE, indeed!

This IS the album all metalheads will remember for a long time.

The Germanian quartet, credited simply as H., J., A. and F. made the ABSOLUTE come-back after eleven years with a sophomore full-length album that will be relished as a real mindbender of 2024 metal releases.

“The Silver Light” was released on February 22nd by Journey’s End Records on limited edition LP.
