Since their reunion back in 2023 WRETCH have offered us a bunch of remarkable full lengths, always delivering powerful and inspired US Heavy / Power Metal. Some Speed and Thrash Metal elements were always on the mix and yes this combination always worked smoothly.
Here I have to point that the addition of Juan Ricardo (ATTAXE, RITUAL, CHEMIKILL, SUNLESS SKY, BLIND CROSS, DARK ARENA, STRYKER etc) back on 2016, was a wise move for the band. His amazing vocal performance has became a notable WRETCH trademark.
Five years have passed since the release of the “Man and Machine” full length which was the band’s fourth full length, second one to feature Juan Ricardo on vocals. Well, it seems that during those five years the band worked really hard, taking their music to the very next level.
“Visitors” includes some mind blowing Heavy / Power Metal that showcases all the classic WRETCH elements:
Yes the characteristic guitar playing of Greek oriented Nick Giannakos, is here. As a key member both on WRETCH and on Ohio metal scene (he have played with many important bands, including DESTRUCTOR, BREAKER and TWIST OF FATE) he have developed a style and sound that pretty much shapes the sonic frame both on WRETCH and on each and every band he collaborates.
The performance of Ricardo can be marked as one of the best he have delivered lately. His voice is in perfect shape and the vocal melodies he delivers in the new WRETCH album are fantastic.
I can surely notice a brief connection with the classic WRETCH sound of the 80s, in a more fresh and melodic version. Yes I love the WRETCH 80s demos as much as you do!
