“A Moment of Silence” by Cleveland, Ohioβs STORMS OF TOMORROW is not a debut destined to disappear into the crowd or end up as just another entry on some endless list of releases. Quite the opposite. It demands your attention and invites you to discover just how convincingly the band has managed to capture the spirit of β90s US Metal, drawing from heavy, power and doom influences and blending them into a sound that feels both familiar and remarkably well put together.
The real next-level element here is the songwriting. “A Moment of Silence” is built with all the right ingredients: busy guitar work, strong riffs, carefully placed technical touches and enough twists and turns to keep things interesting without ever losing sight of the song itself.
The albumβs true dynamic range becomes apparent from the very first listen. Its stylistic shifts unfold with remarkable intelligence within each track, creating an incredibly cohesive whole that reflects, with an almost disarming directness, that very particular strain of β90s US Metal that has sadly all but disappeared today.
Honestly, if you played me this album without giving me any information whatsoever about the band, I would have no hesitation in telling you that these songs came from 1994. And yet, this little masterpiece is being released in 2026.
This album should genuinely serve as a blueprint for others to follow, in the hope that we might finally see a revival of this delicate, lyrical sound, built around adventurous compositions that shift seamlessly between technical prowess and raw emotion.
What we have here is pure, unadulterated US Metal, bringing to mind some golden moments from the underground scene: the demos by Chicagoβs ENFORCER, Canadaβs FALSE WITNESS, and the “Absolute Power” debut by Minnesotaβs POWERMAD.
And yes there is the voice of Juan Ricardo, a name that has been closely associated with this particular side of US Steel for decades. His unmistakable delivery fits the material like a glove, and frankly, even if the only thing he had ever recorded was the ATTAXE material, that would still be more than enough to make his credentials unquestionable.
This is exactly the kind of record that should not remain trapped in the digital realm. The physical release through Arkeyn Steel Records finally puts things where they belong, giving the album the proper treatment it deserves and, at the same time, satisfying those who refused to settle for the original digital-only release β and rightly so.
Release date: 6-11-2026. You can pre-order the album here.
