It was about time for this outstanding debut to be reissued on CD. It is not just its OOP status, it is basically its musical value.

MARCHELLO from New York, US was the spiritual child of Gene Marchello who sings and plays all the guitars in here and Peppi Marchello who was Gene’s father and was the main composer of all the songs that are included on the “Destiny” album, not a stage member but sure a behind the scenes hero, a secret leading force if you like.

The album was released back on 1989 on US and Japan and it is now reissued on CD featuring lots of bonus stuff.

There are lots of important features on this debut that make it a top class album:

First of all the songwriting. Yes it is a fact: there are no fillers in here. There is just this perfectly balanced mixture of Hard Rock and Melodic Metal with some AOR touches, that really shines and works as the perfect frame for each and every song in here.

Secondly there is this incredible guitar performance of Gene Marchello that takes the music of this album to the very next level. Yes everything is here, melodies and leaks and lots of into the point shredding.

Thirdly there is this brilliant voice of Gene that really works as a remarkable trademark for the songs of this album.

The reissue is featuring completely remastered audio, plus bonus tracks from the “Marchello Happy Camper Summer Sampler” promo disc that was sent to media back on the days of the original release. Updated artwork -by Kostas Athanasoglou- plus lyrics and photos are completing the package.

Giles Lavery has written the liner notes included on the reissue. And believe me there is a lot of stuff to read in here: The audition for Ozzy, the live shows, plus many more never heard before stories, are revealed on the booklet liner notes for the very first time.

“Destiny” is much more than an album, is the shining star of an extremely talented musician who chased his dream. Marchello was a phenomenal band, at least that is what is said by everyone that has witness their shows back on the New York rock ‘n’ roll days of the late 80s. This reissue gives the chance to everyone to discover or rediscover their brilliant music!

“Destiny” will be out March 8th on Arkeyn Steel Records. You can pre order it here.

I breathe for music. And I am more than sure that my mission in this universe is to make everybody agree that "Awaken The Guardian" by FATES WARNING is the best album ever released, yes in all musical genres. My next mission is to feed homeless cats and when I am not busy with all this stuff I listen to US Prog / Power and Epic Doom Metal. And I cast spells in rituals in order to awake the old ones. WARLORD: The legend of William J Tsamis lives – Interview and...

To tell you the truth I was a little bit skeptical when I first learned about the Warlord tribute project set by drummer and founding member Mark Zonder and singer Giles Lavery to honor the music and memory of founder guitarist William J Tsamis who unfortunately passed away back in 2021. I was looking at the facts very closely, reading announcements about forthcoming live shows, new line up and a new album. The response from the fans was massive including both positive and negative (or very negative) comments about the above facts. "How can Warlord exist without Bill Tsamis?", they were asking. One afternoon I got a call from Giles Lavery himself asking me if I wanted to do an advance review of the forthcoming Warlord album. I replied positively still being in this skeptical mood. It all went away after the first listen... William J Tsamis was there. His music, his legend, his compositions, evolved into complete songs. In total excitement I texted Giles a single message "Bill is alive". The very next evening found Mark, Giles and I talking about the album, about Bill, about the music and the legacy. It was late at night when we ended the call. I asked them if I can publish our conversation and they got no problem. So here it is again: Me talking with Warlord. The usual stuff I am doing the last 25 years for various reasons. But this time I would not call this conversation an interview. To my eyes this is a big ethical, artistic and soulful statement, by some people who want to keep the Dream, alive.
