Posted on 14.05.2008 @ 09:23:32 by Asgardlord

The swedish band issued the following announcement :

"First of all THANKS for all comments and supportive messages lately. We have decided to give it a shot and let you all know that we are looking for someone to replace Christian Liljegren, who left us a few weeks ago. If you are (or if you know someone who is) a great metal/hard rock singer with a good register, have a personal faith in Jesus Christ and who is interested in joining our band for recording a new album and for playing concerts, please, drop us a line at cj@grimmark.com! Send us detailed info about yourself and let us know who you are. We have received some nice messages from boys and girls with great voices already, for which we are very thankful, but we'd like to know who else is hiding out there."

Energy Vampires On The Way!!!
Posted on 11.05.2008 @ 08:59:30 by Asgardlord

Thnx to our friend Dimitris for the following heads up :

Shadow Kingdom Records is set to release CD & Double LP of Slauter Xstroyes vocalists band Energy Vampires

Las Vegas, NV -- Shadow Kingdom Records has tapped into the vein of original Slauter Xstroyes vocalist Jonathan Stewart and is set to release the highly anticipated CD & limited edition Double LP of the 1991 self titled Energy Vampires recordings. The May '08 Shadow Kingdom Records release (SKR004CD, SKR004DLP) which is a CD and a limited edition Double LP will be the first time since 1991 that these songs have been available to the public. Not only does this release feature some fresh cover art, it also features numerous bonus tracks which were never released. An absolutely essential album for any metal fan.

In 1989 ENERGY VAMPIRES rose out of the ashes of the cult legendary US Metal band SLAUTER XSTROYES. The only member from SLAUTER XSTROYES to form this band was lead vocalist Jonathon Stewart, The music is very much a continuation of the legendary SLAUTER XSTROYES sound and that is very evident from the 2 tracks from the SLAUTER days which were re-recorded for this album. One of the bonus songs was just recently finished in 2007 as an extra treat for the fans! Both CD and LP versions have some of the most amazing band photos ever seen. Artwork was done by the well respected Dimitar, highlighting the definition of an ENERGY VAMPIRE.

The CD & DLP will be available for sale at both the Shadow Kingdom Records & Energy Vampires websites.

Rob Rock back with Impelliteri (source : blabbermouth.net)
Posted on 09.05.2008 @ 18:43:59 by Asgardlord
IMPELLITTERI mainman/guitarist Chris Impellitteri has issued the following update:

"First, I want to thank Guitar World magazine for including IMPELLITTERI in their 50 'Fastest Guitarist of All Time' article. That was really nice of them to include me. I am definitely guilty of playing hyper-speed all too often. However, many people tell me I am the guitarist who probably started the craze of hyper-speed shred with the IMPELLITTERI 'Black' EP. (oops - HA!) SHRED ON!!

"Now on to [IMPELLITTERI's] new record titled 'Good and Evil'. The new music is being mixed in Vancouver with Greg Reely (DEVILDRIVER, FEAR FACTORY, etc.). I can say that this is by far the most amazing recording I have been involved with. It is filled with amazing riffs, fast shredding solos, screaming vocals, and of course a brutal rhythm section.

"The goal of this record was to make a historic album that will rival 'Van Halen 1', OZZY's 'Blizzard of Oz', PANTERA's 'Cowboys from Hell', YNGWIE's 'Rising Force', METALLICA's 'Master of Puppets', and even new artists like CHILDREN OF BODOM and AVENGED SEVENFOLD.

"And so, IMPELLITTERI 'Good and Evil' is my attempt to rival the best. Hopefully, we have done our job well!! It was not easy.

"And now for all of the patient fans - Rob Rock [vocals] is officially back in the band."

Attacker Announces New Vocalist!
Posted on 30.04.2008 @ 19:50:49 by Trampakoulas

New Jersey metallers ATTACKER have announced the addition of Walter Figueroa to the group's ranks.

Figueroa is the former lead singer of SEVERED HAND (a band that features Sebastian Bach's son on drums) and he recently did a stint as vocalist for 1980s metal cover band SMELL THE GLOVE (which features SEVEN WITCHES and current JOEY BELLADONNA guitarist Jack Frost). Walter Figueroa has also been involved with hard rock band IMPRECARI and progressive rock/metal band PARADOX (New Jersey).

Walter Figueroa's influences include Geoff Tate, Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson, and Tony Harnell. These influences can clearly be heard in Figueroa's soaring, powerful voice.

ATTACKER states: "Walter came down and did a fantastic job on the material, so we knew we had to look no further. We had several people recommend Walter to us and they were right on the money. We are all looking forward to working on our new album and hitting the stage as soon as possible."

Sanchez: Swedish singer Jose Sanchez just released his debut album. The Forgotten Scroll didn't miss the chance of interviewing the man himself! Enjoy!

Ignitor: I still wonder why Asgardlord –the female fronted bands master- has not picked this interview (Asgard's note : I'm wondering the same thing, I love Ignitor!!!)… anyway Ignitor from Austin, Texas, US has released a kill second album so we are preparing our attack through an interview answered by the entire band. Enjoy.

Mist Of Soul: Mist Of Soul from my home island Syros (Greece) kick some serious ass. They manage to mix classic Hard Rock and Heavy Metal elements, with a fresh and inspired touch of Steel that brings them inside the circle of their era bands (the 00s) so do not expect any retro-copying stuff in here but be prepared for music by a band that walks on classic basis expanding their talent in order to make a personal sound. Michalis and Antonis (guitars) were kind enough to answer to my questions on the band’s very first interview were they point some useful info about their history and their debut demo called seduction.

Icarus Witch: Icarus Witch hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US have already reached their second full length album. Taking us a fact that their music is blasting our stereos since the days of their debut Mini CD we thought it was about time for an interview on Forgotten Scroll that would give us (and you) the chance to discover what the hell is going on with this KILLER band. Jason (bass) was kind enough to answer to our questions.

Hybrid: Hybrid is THE band for those who still search for some bombastic Metal inspired by Watchtower and Nevermore while it gets even wilder in Thrash ways. Yes they are from Greece and their debut on secret Port records is a must. For those who are –still- unaware of them. Check this interview we have done with Tassos K (their singer).

Tribute - King's Ransom: King’s Ransom from San Antonio, Texas, really captivated me with their beautiful “Curators of the Realm” EP. As you’ll see in the review featured on this site, it’s a unique piece of genuinely progressive and at times theatrical heavy metal. Here’s some information on this wonderful band, gathered mostly from the innersleave of the vinyl re-release of “Curators…” by Steel Legacy records.
